National defense education is an important element in building character and national awareness of the younger generation. This program aims to instill national values, love of the country, and citizen responsibility in maintaining national sovereignty. This article discusses the concept of state defense education, the role of schools and society, as well as the challenges faced in its implementation. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method through literature review and case studies. The results show that collaboration between schools and communities, such as in the “Friends of National Defense” program, can strengthen national defense education. Moral and material support from the community as well as the integration of state defense values into the school curriculum are the main factors for its success.
