<![CDATA[The purpose of this research are to describe the fact of story about the stage of plot, setting, characters, and its implication to the literature learning at SMA. In this research the writer used descriptive qualitative method. The source of the data in this research was the novel Ayah by Andrea Hirata. The result of this research showed that fact of story in novel Ayah by Andrea Hirata was, (a) in the plot there were exposition, complication, climax, relevance and denoument; (b) there was background of the place, time and social; (c) the kind of characters that is focused on the main character and an additional character.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan fakta cerita yang di dalamnya membahas tahap alur, latar dan tokoh, serta mengimplikasikan dalam pembelajaran sastra di SMA.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desktiptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Ayah karya Andrea Hirata. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa fakta cerita dalam novel Ayah karya Andrea Hirata yakni, (a) tahap alur terdiri dari tahap eksposisi, komplikasi atau komplikasi atau konflik, klimaks, relevansi dan denoument; (b) unsur latar antara lain, latar tempat, latar waktu, dan latar sosial; (c) jenis tokoh yang difokuskan pada tokoh utama dan tokoh tambahan.Kata kunci: alur, fakta cerita, jenis tokoh, latar.]]>
