Abstract

Abstract : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan teknik talking chipmeningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalahpenelitian kuantitatif. Tes berbicara digunakan sebagai instrument pengambilandata. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 70 siswa kelas sebelas pada siswa sekolahmenengah atas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara statistik adapeningkatan yang signifakan dalam peningkatan berbicara siswa setelah siswadiajarkan menggunakan teknik talking chip. Penelitian ini menyarankan bahwateknik talking chip memfasilitasi siswa untuk meningkatkan pencapaian.The aim ofthis study was to find out whether the use of talking chip technique improved the students speaking ability. The approach of this study wasquantitative. Speaking tests were used as the instrument to elicit the data.Thesubjects of this study were 70 second grade students of senior high schoolstudents. The result showed that there was a statistically significant improvementof studentsspeaking achievement after the students were taught through talkingthe chip technique. This suggests that talking chip technique facilitates students toimprove achievement.Key words: TALKING CHIP TECHNIQUE, Speaking Ability.
