Pengaruh Skill Argumentasi Menggunakan Model Problem Based Learning Terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa

Abstract

The learning process that takes place in schools is less attention to argumentation skill. Skill argumentation can encourage students to think hard to form conceptual reasoning. This study aimed to: (1) know the influence of argument skills, and (2) to know the improvement of learning outcomes. This experimental research was conducted on students of class VIIIB Junior High School 1 Labuhan Maringgai in Academic Year of 2015/2016 used Minimal Control research design. The research steps included preliminary stage, development stage, test phase and analysis using paired sample t-test and stage of value taking. Learning tool was developed using problem based learning model as argument generator model. The results of this study indicated that: (1) there is a positive linear influence and significant argumentation skill to the learning result of 34.6%; (2) there was a significant increase of student learning result with high N-gain category of 76.5%, medium equal to 23.5% and low 0%.Proses pembelajaran yang berlangsung di sekolah kurang memperhatikan skill argumentasi. Skill argumentasi mampu mendorong siswa berpikir keras membentuk penalaran konsep. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui pengaruh skill argumentasi, dan (2) mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar. Penelitian eksperimen ini dilakukan terhadap siswa kelas VIIIB SMP N 1 Labuhan Maringgai Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016 dengan menggunakan desain penelitian Minimal Control. Langkah penelitian meliputi tahap pendahuluan, tahap pengembangan, tahap uji coba dan analisis menggunakan paired sample t-test dan tahap pengambilan nilai. Perangkat pembelajaran dikembangkan menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning sebagai model pembangkit argumen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh linier yang positif dan signifikan skill argumentasi terhadap hasil belajar sebesar 34,6%; (2) terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan hasil belajar siswa dengan kategori N-gain tinggi sebesar 76,5%, sedang sebesar 23,5% dan rendah 0%.Kata kunci: hasil belajar, problem based learning, dan skill argumentasi
