Abstract

This research aims to: (1) Knowing the average difference of KPS students through model GI and STAD with experimental method. (2) Knowing the average of KPS students better through model GI and STAD with experimental method. Design of experimental in this research using Quasi-Experimental Design with type Counterbalanced Design. Data collection performed using observation sheet of KPS. Aspects of KPS that assessed include the: observe, hypothesize, planning an experiment, interpretation of data, implement concept, and communication. Data analysis technique of KPS using the data of observation result with hypothesis testing using test of Independent Samples T-Test. The results of research showed: (1) There is the average difference of KPS students through model GI and STAD with experimental method. (2) The average of KPS students through model GI better than STAD with experimental method.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui perbedaan rata-rata KPS siswa melalui model GI dan STAD dengan metode eksperimen. (2) Mengetahui rata-rata KPS siswa yang lebih baik melalui model GI dan STAD dengan metode eksperimen. Desain eksperimen pada penelitian ini menggunakan Quasi Eksperimental Design dengan tipe Conuterbalanced Design. Pengumpulan data KPS dilakukan menggunakan lembar observasi KPS. Aspek-aspek KPS yang dinilai meliputi: Mengamati, Berhipotesis, Merencanakan Percobaan, Menginterpretasikan Data, Menerapkan Konsep, dan Berkomunikasi. Teknik analsis data KPS menggunakan data nilai hasil observasi KPS dengan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Independent Sampel T-Test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Ada perbedaan rata-rata KPS siswa melalui model GI dan STAD dengan metode eksperimen. (2) Rata-rata KPS siswa melalui model GI lebih baik dibandingkan STAD dengan metode eksperimen.Kata kunci : gi, kps, metode eksperimen, stad

Abstract

The objectives of this study are (1) to develop an E-book of Dynamic Electricity by using Adobe Captivate 6.0 and (2) to describe the attractiveness and simplicity in comprehend the contents of the Interactive Media of Dynamic Electricity by using Adobe Captivate 6.0 grade XII of high school students in Bandar Lampung. This research was conducted at SMAN in Bandar Lampung. This research employed research and development approach of interactive media by the step of (1) needs analysis, (2) create goals, (3) determine the subject matter, (4) to write treatments (5) to write the initial script, (6) produce prototype, (7) evaluation, (8) revision, (9) the writing of the final manuscript, (10) trials and (11) the final program. Data were taken from the questionnaire. The test result shows that the interactive media is attractive and easy to learn. This is evident from the results of the obtained is data analysis value of 3.06.Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mengembangkan E-book Materi Listrik Dinamis Menggunakan Adobe Captivate 6.0 dan (2) mendeskripsikan kemenarikan dan kemudahan memahami isi Media Interaktif Materi Listrik Dinamis Menggunakan Adobe Captivate 6.0 untuk siswa kelas XII SMA di Bandar Lampung. Penelitian dilakukan di SMAN di Bandar Lampung. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan penelitian dan pengembangan media interaktif dengan dengan langkah-langkah (1) analisis kebutuhan, (2) membuat tujuan, (3) menentukan pokok materi, (4) penulisan treatmen (5) penulisan naskah awal, (6) produksi prototipe, (7) evaluasi, (8) revisi, (9) penulisan naskah akhir, (10) uji coba dan (11) program final. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa media interaktif ini menarik dan mudah untuk dipelajari. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai 3,06.Kata kunci: e-book, listrik dinamis, media interaktif

Abstract

This research aims to describe the influence of the skills in use of ICT-based media of tutorial to students’ achievement of physics.This study was conducted on an experimental class of SMAN 3 Bandar Lampung, namely, class X IPA 4 consisting of 32 students. The sampling techniquein this studyused simple random sampling. It included six steps, that were validity and reliability, the learning process, post-test, test analysis using normality test, linearity, and testing a simple linear regression from the data obtained. The contribution of skills in use of ICT-based media of tutorial with students’ outcomes had the score of 76.40%. The linear regression-typed effect model  followed the equation of Y = 29.61 + 0.66X . Based on the results, it can be concluded that there are linear and significant influence of skills in use of ICT-based media of tutorial to students’ achievement of physics.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keterampilan penggunaan media TIK tutorial terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan satu kelas eksperimen di SMAN 3 Bandar Lampung yaitu kelas X IPA 4 yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pada penelitian ini meliputi beberapa tahapan yaitu uji validitas dan reliabilitas, proses pembelajaran, postest, uji analisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji linearitas, dan uji regresi linear sederhana dari data yang diperoleh. Kontribusi keterampilan penggunaan media TIK tutorial terhadap hasil belajar sebesar 76,40%. Model pengaruh berupa regresi linear mengikuti persamaan Y = 29.61 + 0.66X. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh linear dan signifikan keterampilan penggunaan media TIK tutorial terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa. Kata kunci: hasil belajar, media TIK, tutorial

Abstract

This research aimed to make valid assessment of affective instrument referring on core competence-one about value of belief and core competence-two about value of the devotion of the environtment in science learning at Junior High School. The development model used was based on Borg and Gall. The subjects of this research were Junior High School 2 Bandar Lampung grades VII students of acceleration and VII eight. Last products obtained were assessment of affective instruments i.e. self assessment instrument, peer assessment instrument, and observation instrument which are valid and applied along with its rubrics. Validity and reliability analysis on major field experiments measured by R-Commander software, obtained that self and peer assessment instruments were 0.92, while observation instrument was 0.86 which are valid and reliable. It means the instruments could be used as references for teachers at school.Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan instrumen penilaian afektif yang valid, mengacu pada kompetensi inti satu mengenai nilai ketuhanan dan kompetensi inti dua mengenai kecintaan terhadap lingkungan pada pembelajaran sains di SMP. Model pengembangan mengacu pada Borg dan Gall. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII akselerasi dan VII.8 SMPN 2 Bandar Lampung. Produk akhir yang diperoleh berupa instrumen penilaian afektif yaitu instrumen penilaian diri, teman sebaya, dan observasi yang valid beserta rubriknya. Hasil analisis validitas dan reliabilitas pada uji lapangan utama menggunakan software R-Commander, didapatkan penilaian diri dan teman sebaya 0,92, sedangkan penilaian observasi 0,86 dengan kualitas valid dan reliabel. Hal ini berarti instrumen dapat digunakan sebagai acuan guru di sekolah.Kata kunci: instrumen penilaian afektif, ketuhanan, lingkungan

Abstract

Bagi siswa yang berada pada daerah rawan bencana alam seperti gempa bumi dan tsunami, kemampuan memecahkan masalah (problem solving), merupakan kemampuan yang sangat esensial. Penelitian ini akan memberikan strategi alternatif yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan ketrampilan memecahkan masalah (problem solving),  pada anak-anak dalam konteks membangun resiliensi bencana (disaster resilience) yang terintegrasi dalam proses pembelajaran sains melalui strategi learning community. Penelitian kualitatif dengan tipe psikososial etnografi ini dilakukan terhadap 34 orang siswa di Kabupaten Pesisir Barat sebagai daerah yang paling potensial mengalami bencana gempa bumi dan tsunami. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan strategi focused group discussion dan depth interview terhadap unsur  komunitas sekolah yaitu guru, dan orang tua. Tujuan dari terlibatnya komunitas sekolah untuk mendapatkan data dalam memahami resilience siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 94,12% responden masih memiliki rasa takut jika mendengar suara keras dan melihat gejala alam seperti hujan deras, angin kencang, dan tanah bergoyang. Lebih lanjut, 61,76% responden merasakan kecemasan dan 29,41% responden menunjukkan emosi sedih berkaitan dengan gejala alam. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa resilience berada pada taraf yang masih rendah dan kondisi ini selanjutnya memberikan rekomendasi terkait strategi alternatif untuk pengembangan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi bagi siswa di daerah rawan bencana.

Abstract

This study is a meta-analysis study that aimed to determine the effect of multimedia-based teaching materials in science learning to students cognitive enhancement. This study integrated primary study results of several studies that had been published in national and international journals. The method used in this research was the analysis of the results of seven international journals and three national journals involving multimedia teaching materials based on science learning as the main study. Searches were done through the search engine Google, using Eric Journal and Google scholar with keyword multimedia-based teaching materials. Analysis of data was the description of the results of the average effect size of each study sampled then categorized based on Cohens interpretation. The results showed that multimedia-based teaching materials in science learning had a significant influence on students cognitive learning outcomes indicated by the average effect size of 0.78. Differences in cognitive enhancement were based on a group of countries, fields of study, education level and the variety of multimedia teaching materials. It was concluded that the multimedia-based teaching materials in science learning showed a significant effect on students cognitive enhancement.

Abstract

Kualitas sumber daya manusia yang rendah dipengaruhi oleh kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia yang masih tergolong rendah, sehingga perlu diterapkan pembelajaran yang membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikirnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui implementasi pendekatan pembelajaran STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA 1 dan XI MIPA 2 SMAN 13 Bandar Lampung tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Desain penelitian ini adalah The Non-Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Data kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata N-gain pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,63 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,35 dengan kategori sedang. Secara keseluruhan implementasi pendekatan pembelajaran STEM mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.The low quality of human resources is influenced by the quality of education in Indonesia is still relatively low, so it needs to be applied learning that helps students improve their thinking ability. This study aims to determine the implementation of STEM learning approach to improve students critical thinking skills. The sample of this research is the students of class XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2 SMAN 13 Bandar Lampung academic year 2017/2018. The design of this study was The Non-Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Students critical thinking skills data were collected using critical critical thinking test instruments. The results showed that the average value of N-gain in the experimental class was 0.63 and control class was 0.35 in the medium category. Overall implementation of STEM learning approach can improve students critical thinking ability.

Abstract

Abstract: Implementation of Multiple-Representation-Based Instructions to Improve the Mastery of Quantum Physics Concepts. This study aimed to design and investigate the role of multiple-representation-based instructions in the improvement of student teachers’ quantum physics mastery. This study used a quasi-experimental control group pretest-posttest design as quantitative part of a mixed-methods study. The subjects were student teachers of physics in the Department of Mathematics and Science Education in a state university in Lampung Province in the 2009-2010 academic year. For assessing the quantum physics mastery, the Quantum Physics Concept Achievement Test (QPCAT) was used. The quantitative analyses were conducted using the Mann Whitney U test. The results showed that multiple-representation-based instructions had a significant effect on student teachers’ quantum physics concept mastery. The results of semi-structured interviews as qualitative part of this study indicated that in the experimental group the students used a variety of representation modes in the learning process and were capable of using the most appropriate one to solve a given quantum physics concept problem. Abstract

In mushroom cultivation of white oyster mushroom (P. ostreatus), problems in the contamination during the production are typically found. This contamination is due to the issue in controlling temperature during the media sterilization for growing the fungus (bag-log). This suboptimal sterilization causes unwanted bacteria and spores to grow. To reduce the amount of contamination, the purpose of this study was to demonstrate and evaluate the temperature distribution using one convection pipe with diameter of 6 and 8 cm. The fuel used for this sterilization process is rice husk. Sterilization itself aims to kill other unwanted bacteria and spores on the bag-log. Sterilization was done by traditional steaming bag-log drums arranged in four rows upwards for 6 hours. Convection pipes were built in drums. The steamer was done by performing two retrievals of data. From the experiment results, the use of convection pipe of 8 cm was better than the convection pipe of 6 cm. This is shown from the amount of fungal contamination in convection pipes were less in 8. The result of temperature measurement using dual laser infrared thermometer was also completed and interpreted using Matrix Laboratory with interpolation method to get heat distribution result.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa berdasarkan penelitian pendahuluan yang dilakukan oleh peneliti, yang menunjukkan bahwa 17 dari 30 siswa memperoleh skor dibawah rata-rata pada mata pelajaran fisika. Sehingga diperlukan inovasi penggunaan model pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Brain-Based Learning (BBL) terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dan perbedaan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis antara kelas dengan kelas eksperimen. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPN 1 Kotagajah, dengan menggunakan non-equivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi model pembelajaran BBL berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kleas VII. Kelas eksperimen yang mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran BBL menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis lebih tinggi dengan rata-rata N-Gain 0,64 dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol dengan rata-rata N-Gain 0,40, sehingga model pembelajaran ini dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran sebagai salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.
