The purpose of this research is to develop the form of accompaniment and lyrics of Pakemplung art. The accompaniment needs to be developed to be more dynamic, while the lyrics require refinement to be more easily understood by the current generation. This research employs a 4D model development design (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), utilizing both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Qualitative data were collected through interviews and observations, while quantitative data were collected through surveys. The participants involved were students from four schools at the junior and senior high school levels, both public and private. The results of the research showed that the majority of students liked the updated Pakemplung art accompaniment, the musical accompaniment was not boring for them, and they could also listen to the meaning of the song lyrics conveyed after the development. Efforts to introduce the results of the development of Pakemplung art accompaniment and lyrics were assisted by several social media such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and online news, and received a good response from the wider community. In conclusion, Pakemplung art has become more dynamic and is favored by the younger generation, and it is proven that millennials support change for the advancement of traditional art. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bentuk iringan dan lirik pada kesenian Pakemplung agar lebih dinamis dan mudah dipahami oleh generasi muda. Pengembangan dilakukan melalui model 4D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate) dengan pendekatan campuran (mix method) yang menggabungkan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan penyebaran angket/survei. Wawancara dan observasi digunakan untuk menggali data kualitatif dari pelaku seni dan ahli budaya, sementara survei digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data kuantitatif dari siswa dan siswi SMP dan SMA negeri maupun swasta yang menjadi partisipan penelitian. Teknik analisis data kualitatif dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, sedangkan data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif berupa persentase dan grafik untuk menggambarkan respons partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa dan siswi menyukai bentuk iringan Pakemplung yang telah diperbarui. Iringan musik menjadi lebih menarik dan tidak membosankan, serta lirik yang telah dikembangkan lebih mudah dipahami dan relevan dengan konteks kekinian. Proses diseminasi hasil pengembangan dilakukan melalui berbagai media sosial seperti YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, serta platform berita online, dan memperoleh tanggapan positif dari masyarakat. Kesimpulannya, kesenian Pakemplung menjadi lebih dinamis dan disukai oleh generasi muda, serta menunjukkan bahwa kalangan milenial mendukung inovasi dalam pelestarian dan pengembangan seni tradisi.
