Abstract

Abstract: The preservation of Indonesian culture faces major challenges in the digital era due to the overwhelming flow of information and the dominance of global cultures such as the Korean Wave. The low level of digital literacy in society often leads to misinformation and a decline in appreciation for local culture. This community service program aims to enhance critical awareness soft skills (such as the ability to verify information and understand cultural context) as well as technical hard skills (such as managing digital privacy and producing creative content) in order to preserve Indonesia’s cultural identity. The implementation methods included initial observation, pre-test, digital literacy training, a national webinar, and post-test. The webinar, themed “Preserving Indonesian Culture Wisely in the Digital Era,” involved academics, legislators, and practitioners, with the participation of 130 attendees. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of the importance of information verification, cultural context, and respect for traditional values when sharing online content, with an increase of 70%. In conclusion, preserving Indonesian culture in the digital era requires strong digital literacy, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and the optimization of digital media as a means of cultural education.
