Kata kunci: Hipertensi (Tekanan Darah), Tehnik Relaksasi Otot Progresif (PMR) ABSTRACT Hypertension is a condition of increasing a person's blood pressure above normal which can lead to an increase in morbidity (morbidity) and death (mortality). Hypertension if left untreated can lead to stroke, myocardial infarction, kidney failure and encephalopathy. Hypertension can be treated with pharmacology and non-pharmacology, one of the non-pharmacological treatment of hypertension with progressive muscle relaxation techniques. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation Technique (PMR) on Blood Pressure in Patients with Hypertension. The type and design used in this research is "Quasi experimental pre-post one group design". The sample of this study was 44 people with hypertension in the hamlet of Sampak, Wonogiri who had met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected by purposive sampling. Measurement of blood pressure using a sphygmomanometer. Test the hypothesis using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results of the Wilcoxon test hypothesis showed that with a p-value of 0.000 < (0.05) there was an effect of progressive muscle relaxation technique therapy on blood pressure values ??in patients with hypertension. PMR can be used as a non-pharmacological management in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Keywords: Hypertension (blood pressure), progressive muscle relaxation technique (PMR)
