Penyuluhan Teknologi Pembuatan Briket Berdaya Jual Tinggi untuk Meningkatkan Ekonomi Masyarakat di Desa Sumbermanjing Wetan Kabupaten Malang

Abstract

Briquettes are an environmentally friendly alternative fuel with high economic potential as a substitute for fossil fuels. In Sumbermanjing Wetan Village, Malang Regency, there is abundant potential for organic waste that has not been optimally utilized for high-quality briquette production. This study aims to analyze the impact of briquette-making technology counseling on improving community skills and the economic value of briquette products. The research method employs a qualitative approach, utilizing observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques with 30 participants in counseling. The counseling was conducted over 5 days, covering materials on raw material processing technology, mixing and molding techniques, optimal drying processes, and briquette marketing strategies. The results showed that 87% of participants were able to produce high-quality briquettes with an average calorific value of 4,200 kcal/kg. There was an average income increase of 65%, and the briquette products received positive responses from local and regional markets. Briquette-making technology counseling proved effective in improving community skills and creating sustainable new business opportunities. ABSTRAK Briket merupakan bahan bakar alternatif yang ramah lingkungan dan memiliki potensi ekonomi tinggi sebagai pengganti bahan bakar fosil. Di Desa Sumbermanjing Wetan, Kabupaten Malang, terdapat potensi limbah organik yang melimpah namun belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal untuk pembuatan briket berkualitas tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak penyuluhan teknologi pembuatan briket terhadap peningkatan keterampilan masyarakat dan nilai ekonomi produk briket. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi terhadap 30 peserta penyuluhan. Penyuluhan dilaksanakan selama 5 hari dengan materi teknologi pengolahan bahan baku, teknik pencampuran dan pencetakan, proses pengeringan optimal, dan strategi pemasaran briket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 87% peserta mampu memproduksi briket berkualitas tinggi dengan nilai kalor rata-rata 4.200 kkal/kg, terjadi peningkatan pendapatan rata-rata sebesar 65%, dan produk briket mendapat respon positif dari pasar lokal dan regional. Penyuluhan teknologi pembuatan briket terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dan menciptakan peluang usaha baru yang berkelanjutan.
