Abstract

ABSTRACT To improve learning outcomes and the effectiveness of learning activities that previously did not meet the Classical Mastery Criteria, it is necessary to use more innovative instructional media that can better support students' understanding. This study aims to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes through the application of 3D animation video learning media with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the basic elements of Construction and Housing Engineering of class X TKP SMK Negeri 2 Medan in the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was carried out in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 35 tenth-grade students at SMK Negeri 2 Medan. The instruments used included a learning achievement test and an observation sheet. The results indicate that applying 3D animation video media based on the PBL model can significantly improve student learning outcomes. In the first cycle, the average student score reached the sufficient category for the Minimum Completion Criteria at 75.4, but the CCC of 62.9% had not yet been achieved. After revisions and improvements in the second cycle, the average score increased to 83.85, and classical completeness reached 91.4%, surpassing the required 85% CCC standard. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that using 3D animation video learning media integrated with the Problem Based Learning model is effective in improving learning outcomes in the basic elements of Construction and Housing Engineering for class X TKP students at SMK Negeri 2 Medan.
