Abstract

Factors Associated with the Incidence of Preeclampsia in Pregnant Women at Citra Medika Hospital, Depok in 2023. Preeclampsia is a group of symptoms that arise in pregnant, delivering, and postpartum women, characterized by hypertension, edema, and proteinuria. These symptoms typically appear from 20 weeks of pregnancy until the first week after delivery. Objective: This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnant women at Citra Medika Hospital, Depok in 2023. Methodology: This study is an analytical descriptive research utilizing secondary data. The research design adopted is "Cross-Sectional". The sampling technique employed in this research is the total sampling technique. Results: The bivariate analysis revealed a significant relationship between parity (0.033<0.05) and a history of diabetes mellitus (0.008<0.05) with the incidence of preeclampsia. However, there was no significant relationship found between maternal age (0.238>0.05), history of hypertension (0.069>0.05), and history of preeclampsia (0.739>0.05) in relation to the incidence of preeclampsia. Conclusions and Recommendations: This study concludes that there is a correlation between parity, and a history of diabetes mellitus, whereas no significant relationship was found between age, history of hypertension, and history of preeclampsia in relation to the incidence of preeclampsia among pregnant women at Citra Medika Hospital, Depok in 2023. It is recommended that the general public, especially pregnant women, enhance their knowledge about preeclampsia to mitigate and prevent the adverse impacts associated with this condition.
