Pengaruh Penggunaan Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning Berbantuan Media Maket Terhadap Berpikir Kritis Siswa MAN 2 Aceh Barat

Abstract

Learning models play an essential role in enhancing students' understanding and critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of applying the discovery learning model assisted by mock-up media on students' critical thinking skills. This research employs a quasi-experimental design involving control and experimental groups. Data collection was conducted through tests (pre-test and post-test) in the form of valid and reliable essay questions. Data analysis was performed using parametric statistical t-test analysis. Based on the prerequisite tests for the t-test, which include normality and homogeneity tests, the research data were found to be normal and homogeneous, allowing for the t-test to be conducted. The data analysis results showed that the t-value was greater than the t-table value (4.60 > 1.68), indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. This signifies that the application of the discovery learning model using mock-up media has a significant effect on improving students' critical thinking skills at MAN 2 Aceh Barat. The implementation of the discovery learning model supported by mock-up media not only optimally fosters students' critical thinking potential but also represents a necessity for educators to continually adopt and adapt active learning models, critical inquiry, and problem-solving skills to prepare future generations in accordance with the demands of education in the industry 5.0 era. Abstrak Model pembelajaran memegang fungsi esensial untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning dengan berbantuan media maket terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimental design yang melibatkan kelompok kontrol dan eksperimen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes (pre-test dan post-test) berupa soal pilihan ganda yang valid dan realiabel. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji statistik parametrik t-test. Berdasarkan uji prasyarat t-test yang terdiri dari normalitas dan homogenitas didapatkan data penelitian normal dan homogen sehingga dapat dilakukan uji t. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai thitung ttabel (4,601,68) yang berarti hipotesis diterima yang berarti penerapan model discovery learning dengan menggunakan media maket secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di MAN 2 Aceh Barat. Penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning yang berbantuan media maket tidak hanya mendukung potensi berpikir kritis siswa secara optimal, tetapi juga sebagai keharusan bagi para pendidik untuk terus menerapkan model pembelajaran aktif dan penyelidikan kritis untuk mempersiapkan generasi penerus yang sesuai dengan tuntutan pendidikan di era industry 5.0.
