Strategi Petani Lahan Kering Aceh Besar Dalam Menghadapi Ancaman Perubahan Iklim Terhadap Ketahanan Pangan

Abstract

Perubahan iklim menimbulkan ancaman serius terhadap ketahanan pangan, terutama di wilayah tropis dengan sistem pertanian lahan kering yang bergantung pada pola iklim. Penelitian ini menganalisis strategi adaptasi petani lahan kering di Kabupaten Aceh Besar terhadap dampak perubahan iklim menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus di empat gampong: Indrapuri, Sibreh, Blang Bintang, dan Lhong. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Sustainable Livelihoods Framework (SLF). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perubahan pola musim, peningkatan suhu, dan kekeringan berkepanjangan menurunkan produktivitas pertanian. Petani merespons dengan menyesuaikan waktu tanam, memilih varietas tahan kering, menggunakan pupuk organik, dan menerapkan tumpangsari. Namun, keterbatasan akses teknologi, informasi iklim, dan dukungan kelembagaan masih menghambat adaptasi. Ketahanan pangan di lahan kering Aceh Besar sangat bergantung pada peningkatan kapasitas adaptif petani melalui pendidikan iklim dan inovasi pertanian berkelanjutan. ABSTRACT Climate change poses a serious threat to food security, particularly in tropical regions where dryland farming systems are dependent on climate patterns. This study analyzes the adaptation strategies of dryland farmers in Aceh Besar Regency to the impacts of climate change using a qualitative approach with a case study method in four villages: Indrapuri, Sibreh, Blang Bintang, and Lhong. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Sustainable Livelihoods Framework (SLF). The results indicate that changing seasonal patterns, increasing temperatures, and prolonged droughts reduce agricultural productivity. Farmers respond by adjusting planting times, selecting drought-resistant varieties, using organic fertilizers, and implementing intercropping. However, limited access to technology, climate information, and institutional support still hamper adaptation. Food security in the drylands of Aceh Besar is highly dependent on increasing farmers' adaptive capacity through climate education and sustainable agricultural innovation
