Abstract

Pneumonia is an infectious disease that affects the lower respiratory tract with signs and symptoms such as coughing and shortness of breath. This is caused by the presence of infectious agents such as viruses, bacteria, mycoplasma and aspiration of foreign substances in the form of exudate (fluid) that blocks the patient's airway. Objective: to carry out Nursing Care for the application of chest physiotherapy in toddlers with Pneumonia with ineffective airway clearance at Siti Fatimah Az-zahra Hospital, South Sumatra in 2024. Research Method: The method used is a descriptive method with a case study approach, and Chest Physiotherapy Implementation intervention, the subjects in the case study were 2 patients. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, physical examinations and documentation. Research Results: The results of the study were obtained After the action was taken on patient 1 and patient 2 with ineffective airway clearance, the patient's mother said that the patient no longer complained of difficulty breathing, phlegm could be removed, rhonchi and wheezing sounds in both lung fields were no longer problems resolved. Conclusion: Chest physiotherapy is effective because it is easy to do yourself, without using any drugs, easy to imitate the method, can be effective in removing secretions in the airways.
