Abstract. Character education constitutes a crucial foundation for shaping students’ personalities so that they can live ethically and responsibly within society. In this context, the role of teachers is not limited to formal classroom instruction but also involves facilitating the reinforcement of character values through non-formal activities such as extracurricular programs. This study is urgent given the increasing demand for character education amid the social complexity and developmental dynamics of elementary school students. However, efforts to integrate character education into extracurricular activities are often not implemented systematically and structurally by some educators. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method at SDN 14 Allu, Bantaeng District. The main informants were extracurricular instructors, sixth-grade students, and the school principal. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that teachers play a significant role in shaping students’ social character through close and non-hierarchical interactions, the use of social moments as opportunities for value learning, and the provision of spaces for reflection and expression. Nevertheless, several obstacles were identified, including limited time and facilities, teachers’ methodological understanding, and minimal parental support. Overall, extracurricular activities were found to enhance students’ cooperation, self-confidence, tolerance, discipline, and social awareness when facilitated through appropriate and reflective approaches.Abstrak. Pendidikan karakter merupakan fondasi penting dalam membentuk kepribadian siswa agar mampu hidup bermasyarakat secara etis dan bertanggung jawab. Dalam konteks ini, peran guru tidak hanya terbatas pada pengajaran formal di kelas, tetapi juga harus mampu memfasilitasi penguatan nilai-nilai karakter melalui kegiatan non-formal seperti ekstrakurikuler. Penelitian ini menjadi urgen mengingat semakin tingginya kebutuhan akan pendidikan karakter di tengah kompleksitas sosial dan dinamika perkembangan siswa sekolah dasar. Namun, upaya integrasi pendidikan karakter dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler seringkali belum dilakukan secara sistematis dan terstruktur oleh sebagian pendidik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus di SDN 14 Allu, Kecamatan Bantaeng. Informan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah guru pembina ekstrakurikuler, siswa kelas VI, dan kepala sekolah. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru memainkan peran signifikan dalam membentuk karakter sosial siswa melalui pendekatan interaksi akrab dan non-hierarkis, penggunaan momen sosial sebagai pembelajaran nilai, serta pemberian ruang refleksi dan ekspresi. Meskipun demikian, ditemukan beberapa hambatan, seperti keterbatasan waktu, sarana, pemahaman metodologis guru, serta minimnya dukungan orang tua. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler terbukti mampu meningkatkan kerja sama, kepercayaan diri, toleransi, disiplin, dan kepedulian sosial siswa ketika difasilitasi dengan pendekatan yang tepat dan reflektif.
