AbstrakAnak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK) memiliki hak yang sama untuk tumbuh, berkembang, dan hidup mandiri, termasuk dalam penerapan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS). Salah satu aspek PHBS yang penting adalah kemampuan bina diri dalam praktik mencuci tangan. Namun, keterbatasan kognitif, motorik, dan adaptif pada ABK sering menjadi tantangan dalam pembelajaran praktik mencuci tangan yang benar. Hasil survei awal di SLB Negeri Musi Rawas menunjukkan perlunya dukungan dan pendampingan berkelanjutan dalam penguatan keterampilan bina diri siswa terkait PHBS, khususnya praktik mencuci tangan, serta adanya tantangan bagi guru dalam memberikan edukasi kesehatan secara lisan yang mudah dipahami oleh siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bina diri mencuci tangan pada anak berkebutuhan khusus melalui optimalisasi penggunaan video animasi interaktif. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada siswa ABK semua jenjang. Metode yang digunakan meliputi edukasi kesehatan, pendampingan praktik, serta pemanfaatan media video animasi interaktif yang terintegrasi. Media dirancang secara sederhana, menarik, dan dilengkapi unsur interaktif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterlibatan anak dalam proses pembelajaran. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan melalui observasi kemampuan bina diri mencuci tangan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam melakukan tahapan mencuci tangan menggunakan sabun secara lebih mandiri. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan video animasi interaktif dapat menjadi media edukasi PHBS yang efektif dan aplikatif bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus serta berpotensi mendukung peran sekolah dan keluarga dalam pembinaan kesehatan anak secara berkelanjutan. AbstractChildren with special needs have the same rights to grow, develop, and live independently, including in the implementation of clean and healthy living behaviors. One important aspect of PHBS is the ability to self-manage handwashing practices. However, cognitive, motor, and adaptive limitations in ABK often present challenges in learning proper handwashing practices. The results of an initial survey at the Musi Rawas State Special Needs School (SLB Negeri) indicate the need for ongoing support and mentoring in strengthening students' self-management skills related to PHBS, particularly handwashing practices, as well as the challenge for teachers in providing oral health education that is easily understood by students. This community service activity aims to improve the ability to self-manage handwashing in children with special needs through optimizing the use of interactive animated videos. The activities were carried out with ABK students at all levels. The methods used included health education, practical mentoring, and the use of integrated interactive animated video media. The media was designed to be simple, attractive, and equipped with interactive elements to increase children's understanding and engagement in the learning process. Evaluation of the activity was carried out through observations of self-management handwashing skills before and after the intervention. The results of the community service showed an increase in students' ability to perform the stages of handwashing with soap more independently. This activity demonstrates that the use of interactive animated videos can be an effective and applicable PHBS education medium for children with special needs and has the potential to support the role of schools and families in fostering children's health on an ongoing basis.
