This research was conducted based on findings that first-grade students at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level showed low interest in learning tayamum due to the absence of engaging and enjoyable instructional media. The study aimed to develop a Joyful Learning–based Big Book to enhance students’ interest and enjoyment in learning tayamum. The research employed a development approach using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The development process resulted in a Joyful Learning–based Big Book that was assessed as highly valid and appealing. Validation results from media, material, and language experts each reached a score of 100%, indicating very high validity. Furthermore, media attractiveness testing showed excellent results, with individual trials achieving 87%, small group trials 97%, and operational trials 98%, all categorized as highly attractive. Therefore, the study concluded that the developed Big Book media is both valid and engaging for teaching tayamum to first-grade MI students.
