Upaya Sekolah dalam Mengembangkan Karakter Religius dan Disiplin Siswa Melalui Kegiatan Ekstrakulikuler Pramuka di MTsN 2 Sumbawa Barat

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya sekolah dalam mengembangkan karakter religius dan disiplin siswa melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Pramuka serta faktor penghambatnya di MTsN 2 Sumbawa Barat. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan karakter religius dilakukan melalui pembiasaan doa sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan, kegiatan mengaji, zikir dan wirid bersama, pelaksanaan salat berjamaah, serta kegiatan bakti sosial sebagai implementasi nilai kepedulian dan keikhlasan. Sementara itu, pengembangan karakter disiplin dilaksanakan melalui ketaatan terhadap aturan dan jadwal, latihan baris-berbaris (PBB), kerja sama dalam regu, serta penerapan sistem konsekuensi berupa penghargaan dan hukuman edukatif secara konsisten. Proses pembinaan tersebut mendorong pergeseran dari kepatuhan berbasis regulasi eksternal menuju kesadaran intrinsik siswa. Faktor penghambat yang ditemukan meliputi motivasi dan kesadaran diri siswa yang belum stabil, kurangnya dukungan dan pembiasaan dari keluarga, pengaruh lingkungan sosial dan media, serta keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana pendukung kegiatan. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kegiatan Pramuka berpotensi menjadi wahana strategis dalam penguatan pendidikan karakter di madrasah apabila didukung oleh konsistensi pembinaan, sinergi sekolah–keluarga, dan lingkungan yang kondusif. School Efforts in Developing Students' Religious Character and Discipline Through Scout Extracurricular Activities at MTsN 2 West Sumbawa Abstract This study aims to determine the school's efforts in developing students' religious character and discipline through Scout extracurricular activities and its inhibiting factors in MTsN 2 West Sumbawa. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that the development of religious character is implemented through habituation of prayer before and after activities, Qur’anic recitation, dhikr and wirid, congregational prayers, and social service activities as the embodiment of sincerity and social care. Meanwhile, disciplined character is fostered through adherence to rules and schedules, marching drills (PBB), teamwork within patrol groups, and the consistent application of educational sanctions and rewards. These strategies contribute to a gradual shift from externally regulated obedience toward students’ intrinsic awareness. The inhibiting factors include unstable student motivation and self-awareness, limited parental support and home habituation, the influence of social and media environments, and limited facilities and infrastructure. The study concludes that Scout extracurricular activities have strong potential as a strategic medium for strengthening character education in Islamic secondary schools when supported by consistent guidance and synergy among school, family, and community.
