ABSTRAK Keadaan gawat darurat merupakan keadaan yang memerlukan penanganan atau tindakan segera untuk menghilangakan ancaman nyawa korban yang dapat menyebabkan kematian. Henti jantung merupakan salah satu kondisi kegawatdaruratan yang terjadi secara tiba-tiba tanpa gejala awal. Tanpa penanganan yang segera, kematian dapat terjadi hanya dalam hitungan menit. Resusitasi jantung paru merupakan salah satu penanganan paling mendasar apabila menemukan seseorang yang mengalami henti jantung dan henti napas. Tingginya angka kematian akibat serangan jantung tidak lepas dari kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat umum untuk memberikan pertolongan pertama saat menemukan korban henti jantung dan henti napas di luar rumah sakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektifitas pelatihan bantuan hidup dasar terhadap tingkat pengetahuan siswa SMAN 5 Jakarta. Peneliti memberikan pelatihan bantuan hidup dasar kepada 103 siswa. Metode penelitian kuantitatif, jenis penelitian quasi-experimental dengan desain one group pretest-postest. Di dapatkan hasil bahwa ada perbedaan yang bermakna rerata tingkat pengetahuan siswa SMAN 5 Jakarta sebelum dan sesudah siswa diberikan pelatihan bantuan hidup dasar P value=0.00 (P0.05). Begitu juga pada tingkat kemampuan adanya perbedaan yang bermakna rerata tingkat kemampuan siswa SMAN 5 Jakarta sebelum dan sesudah diberikan pelatihan bantuan hidup dasar P value=0.00 (P0.05). Kesimpulan pelatihan bantuan hidup dasar efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa yang berdampak terhadap kesiapan siswa saat memberikan pertolongan pertama pada korban henti jantung dan henti napas di luar rumah sakit. ABSTRACT An emergency situation is a situation that requires immediate treatment or action to eliminate the threat to the victim's life that can cause death. Cardiac arrest is an emergency condition that occurs suddenly without initial symptoms. Without immediate treatment, death can occur in just a matter of minutes. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is one of the most basic treatments when finding someone experiencing cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest. The high death rate due to heart attacks is inseparable from the general public's lack of knowledge in providing first aid when finding victims of cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest outside the hospital. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of basic life support training on the level of knowledge of students at SMAN 5 Jakarta. Researchers provided basic life support training to 103 students. The research method was quantitative, quasi-experimental research type with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the average level of knowledge of students at SMAN 5 Jakarta before and after students were given basic life support training P value = 0.00 (P 0.05). Likewise, at the level of ability, there was a significant difference in the average level of ability of students of SMAN 5 Jakarta before and after being given basic life support training P value = 0.00 (P 0.05). The conclusion is that basic life support training is effective in increasing students' knowledge which has an impact on students' readiness when providing first aid to victims of cardiac and respiratory arrest outside the hospital.
