Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to determine the effect of extracts of canna (Canna edulis Ker) and dry soybeans (Glycine max L.) on the histological structure of the liver and kidneys of white rats (Rattus norvegicus). This research is a one-factor experimental study. The object used was a female white rat wistar strain aged ± 2 months. This study was conducted with 4 groups, including 1 control group (K0) and 3 treatment groups, namely P1 (canna extract 200 mg / kg BB + soybean extract 400 mg / kg BB, P2 (canna extract 300 mg / kg BB + soybean extract 300 mg / kg BB), and P3 (canna extract 400 mg / kg BB + soybean extract 200 mg / kg BB). Each treatment consists of 5 repetitions. Observed data histological structure of liver and kidneys of white rats. Kruskal wallis analysis to determine differences in histological damage to liver and kidney in control and treatment group animals, if the real difference is continued DMRT test to determine group differences in the control group and each treatment group. The results showed that the administration of canna tuber extracts (Canna edulis Ker) and dry soybeans(Glycine max L.) had a significant effect (P0.05) on the histological structure damage of the liver of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) in the form of pycnosis in all treatments, while it had an effect on not significant (P0.05) on cariorexis and lysis. Giving extracts of canna (Canna edulis Ker) and dried soybeans (Glycine max L.) had a significant effect (P0.05) on damage to the histological structure of the kidneys of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) in the form of pyknosis and cariorexis in all treatments, while the effect was not significant (P0.05) on lysis. Keywords: white rat (Rattus norvegicus), canna extract (Canna edulis), soybean extract (Glycine max), histological structure of the liver, histological structure of the kidney.
