This research seeks to illustrate how effective metaphorical figure of speech puzzle learning media (PMM) is for improving the cognitive skills of fourth graders during Indonesian language classes, focusing on metaphorical figures of speech. Class IVA served as the experimental group and was taught using metaphorical figure of speech puzzle media, while Class IVB functioned as the control group and utilized word-matching card media. Data collection involved both observations and tests, which were then analyzed through prerequisite assessments and hypothesis testing with an Independent Sample T-Test. The findings indicated that incorporating metaphorical figure of speech puzzle media significantly enhanced students' cognitive skills. This is demonstrated by the rise in average scores from the pretest to the posttest in the experimental class, moving from 43. 90 to 88. 70, while the control class saw an increase from 30. 90 to 80. 90.
