<![CDATA[Occupancy rate is a crucial calculation in the hospitality industry. Accurate occupancy rate calculations enable hoteliers to manage their business effectively to maximize profits. Many students in the hospitality industry have nonexact majors. Students with nonexact backgrounds tend to struggle with basic mathematical operations. Hospitality students must be proficient in accurate occupancy rate calculations. To minimize errors in occupancy rate calculations, this study developed a VBA macro application to assist in calculating occupancy rates. This tool has been socialized in business mathematics as a learning tool. It is hoped that this tool will eliminate errors in occupancy rate calculations, enabling proper hotel resource management. This calculation was implemented in a business mathematics class, followed by a paired t-test. The paired t-test results showed a significant difference between the results of calculations using manual formulas and those using the application, with students making fewer errors.]]>
