<![CDATA[Abstract: Anne Lacaton and Jean Philippe Vassal are French architects renowned for their "freedom of use" approach in their works. This concept rejects conventional spatial standards and emphasizes spatial generosity, economic efficiency, and sustainability in the design of living spaces. This article aims to examine the application of the "freedom of use" concept in their major projects through a qualitative literature study. The analysis focuses on identifying key principles and their contributions to architectural practice. The findings indicate that this approach holds significant potential in creating flexible, participatory spaces centered on user well-being, while also offering sustainable design alternatives in a global context. Konsep ini menolak standar spasial konvensional dan menekankan prinsip kedermawanan ruang, efisiensi ekonomi, serta keberlanjutan dalam mendesain ruang hidup. Artikel ini bertujuan mengkaji penerapan konsep "freedom of use" dalam proyek-proyek utama mereka dengan pendekatan studi literatur kualitatif. Analisis difokuskan pada identifikasi prinsip-prinsip utama dan kontribusinya terhadap praktik arsitektur. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan ini memiliki potensi besar dalam menghasilkan ruang yang fleksibel, partisipatif, dan berorientasi pada kesejahteraan pengguna, serta menawarkan alternatif desain berkelanjutan dalam konteks global.
