Purpose of the study: This study aims to identify the strategies for developing community-based tourism (CBT) at Pantai Ide Sorowako, as well as to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence the implementation of CBT in the area. Methodology: This research applied a qualitative descriptive method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving government officials, PT. Vale management, and local communities as informants. Both primary and secondary data were analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques supported by triangulation to ensure data validity. Main Findings: The findings show that PT. Vale’s external management actively involves local communities in tourism-related decision-making. The management of Pantai Ide benefits residents directly through economic improvement and indirectly through cultural preservation and exposure. Supporting factors include natural beauty and free access, while inhibiting factors involve low public awareness of environmental cleanliness and the absence of formal tourism regulations. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study contributes to the understanding of how corporate–community collaboration enhances community-based tourism. It highlights the role of local participation and cultural preservation as key elements in sustainable tourism development, offering practical insights for integrating community empowerment into corporate social responsibility initiatives.
