Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas upaya meningkatkan kemampuan mengoper bola dengan teknik bawah dikalangan siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 1 Cijambe saat belajar voli. Masalah pokok dalam pengajaran voli di sekolah SMP Negeri 1 Cijambe adalah teknik passing bawah yang masih tidak tepat dan rendahnya minat siswa dalam keterlibatan selama proses belajar. Pendekatan Problem Based Learning (PBL) menjadi alternatif dalam mengatasi hal itu, karena mendorong anak-anak untuk mengenali kesalahan gerakan sendiri, mencari solusi, serta melatih keterampilan lewat pengalaman nyata. Penelitian memakai desain pra-eksperimen dengan pola pretest-posttest pada satu kelompok saja, melibatkan 33 siswa kelas IX yang dipilih secara random. Tes kemampuan passing bawah dilakukan sebelum dan setelah intervensi, dengan penilaian mencakup sikap awal, eksekusi gerakan, serta sikap akhir. Analisis data pakai uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan statistik parametrik untuk lihat perubahan kemampuan siswa pasca-perlakuan. Hasilnya, metode pembelajaran berbasis masalah berhasil dorong peningkatan skill passing bawah, terlihat dari naiknya rata-rata skor tes akhir dibanding pretest. Penemuan ini bukti bahwa cara belajar seperti ini bisa bantu siswa paham lebih dalam soal gerakan passing bawah voli, tingkatkan teknik mereka, dan aktifkan partisipasi. Makanya, model ini layak jadi pilihan alternatif untuk mengembangkan teknik dasar permainan bola besar di jenjang SMP. Abstract This research discusses efforts to improve the underhand passing skills of ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Cijambe during volleyball lessons. The main issue in volleyball teaching at that school is the improper underhand passing technique and the low interest of students in taking part in the educational experience. The Issue Focused Learning (PBL) approach becomes an alternative in addressing this issue, as it encourages children to recognize their own movement errors, seek solutions, and practice skills thru real experiences. The research used a pre-experimental design with a pretest-posttest pattern on a single group, involving 33 randomly selected ninth-grade students. The underhand passing A skills assessment took place prior to and following the intervention, with assessments covering initial stance, movement execution, and final stance. Data analysis used normality tests, homogeneity, plus parametric statistics to observe changes in students' abilities post-treatment. The findings indicate that learning through problem-solving method successfully encouraged an improvement in underhand passing skills, as demonstrated by the rise in the typical final test scores compared to the pretest. This finding is evidence that this learning method can help students understand the underhand volleyball passing movement more deeply, improve their technique, and activate participation. Therefore, this model is worth considering as an alternative to develop basic techniques of major ball games at the junior high school level
