<![CDATA[The history of education in Indonesia has experienced very significant movements in society. Education is not only considered a necessity to fulfill people's rights, but has become a lifestyle for the people. The aim of the research is to find out the presence of Islamic education and educational institutions in pre-independence Indonesia. This research uses the library research method with a historical analysis type of research. The data collection method uses tracking historical literature sources from books and videos on the history of education in Indonesia. Data search uses library research by collecting articles related to this title from various sources and analyzed using content analysis. The research results confirm that pre- independence Islamic education started from Islamic education during the Dutch and Japanese era. This research contributes to the study of Islamic education in Indonesia, especially regarding the development of independent Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia.]]>
