Speaking is a language skill alongside listening, reading, and writing skills. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of storytelling methods had an effect on the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 15 in Sorong Regency. This was a quantitative study using an experimental method. The research design used in this study was a one group pretest posttest design. The study was conducted in Grade V of SD Inpres 15 Sorong District with a total of 30 students. Based on calculations using the t-test, the results obtained were t table = 1.773 and t count = 5.572. Therefore, t count > t table and the significance value is 0.00 < 0.05. Therefore, H0 is rejected, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of the storytelling method on the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 15 Sorong Regency. Based on the results of the theoretical review and research conducted by the author in the context of this thesis, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the storytelling method on the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 15 Sorong Regency.
