<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the problem solving ability of students in solving story problems on a two variable system of linear equations based on the Polya at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano. This research method is a type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Collecting data using tests and interviews. This study was followed by 20 students from class VIIIA. Essay test by 20 students and from the results of the descriptions test, 3 students were taken to be interview subjects representing high skill subjects, medium ability subjects and low ability subjects. The research subjects used purposive sampling technique. Data analysis techniques used are data presentation, data reduction, and conclusions. The results of this study are high ability subjects are able to carry out the four stages of Polya moderately capable subjects are able to perform three stages of Polya and low ability subjects are able to carry out two stages of Polya]]>
