MAKNA DAN URGENSI DEEP-LEARNING BAGI PESERTA DIDIK DALAM PERSPEKTIF PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM: The Meaning and Importance of Deep Learning for Students from the Perspective of Islamic Religious Education

Abstract

The Indonesian education system is undergoing reform to meet the demands of the 21st century, which emphasize critical, creative, communicative, and collaborative thinking skills. This article aims to analyze the significance and urgency of the Deep Learning approach in Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam, PAI). This article employs a literature review method. The data sources consist of books, articles, and other literature relevant to the research topic. The findings of this article are as follows: First, Deep Learning comprises three main, mutually integrated components: meaningful learning, mindful learning, and joyful learning. All three align with the Islamic educational values of ta’dib and tazkiyatun nafs. Second, the urgency of Deep Learning lies in reviving the spirit of Islamic education that prioritizes tafakkur (deep thinking), tadabbur (contemplation), and wahdatul 'ulum (integration of knowledge), to cultivate well-rounded individuals who master both revealed and rational knowledge and possess noble character, in line with the challenges of the 21st century. Pendidikan Indonesia sedang mengalami reformasi untuk menjawab tuntutan abad ke-21 yang menekankan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kreatif, komunikatif dan kolaboratif. Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis makna dan urgensi pendekatan Deep Learning dalam Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI).  Artikel ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan. Sumber data terdiri dari buku, artikel, dan literatur lain yang relevan dengan tema riset. Temuan artikel ini adalah: Pertama, Deep Learning memiliki tiga komponen utama yang saling terintegrasi, yaitu meaningful learning (pembelajaran bermakna), mindful learning (pembelajaran dengan kesadaran penuh), dan joyful learning (pembelajaran yang menyenangkan). Ketiganya selaras dengan nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam berupa ta’dib dan tazkiyatun nafs. Kedua, urgensi Deep Learning adalah mengembalikan semangat pendidikan Islam yang mengedepankan tafakkur (berpikir mendalam), tadabbur (perenungan), dan wahdatul 'ulum (integrasi ilmu), untuk mewujudkan insan kamil yang menguasai ilmu naqli dan aqli serta berakhlak mulia, sesuai dengan tantangan abad 21.
