Abstract

This study explores how Hannah Arendt’s concepts of natality, the banality of evil, and totalitarianism can be applied to address educational challenges in the Society 5.0 era. The central question is how these concepts can be reinterpreted to prepare younger generations for the crises of digital humanity arising from artificial intelligence, algorithmic governance, and complex information ecologies. The objective is to formulate an educational framework that preserves human novelty and responsibility. Employing a qualitative, philosophical approach, as well as conceptual analysis, the study integrates Arendtian theory with contemporary debates on AI ethics and uses Jostein Gaarder’s The Solitaire Mystery as a narrative illustration. The theoretical framework synthesizes Arendt’s Amor Mundi with an expanded notion of Amor Cosmi. The findings suggest that education should be viewed as a space of natality that fosters critical thinking, resists algorithmic banalization, and mitigates the risks of digital totalitarianism. The study concludes that Arendt’s educational philosophy must evolve to include planetary and cosmic imagination in order to humanize education effectively in Society 5.0. Kata-kata Kunci: Arendt, natalitas, banalitas kejahatan, totalitarianisme digital, pendidikan humanis, society 5.0, amor mundi
