The purpose of this study is to determine the validity of the problem-based learning thematic module to improve students' critical thinking skills. To determine the practicality of the problem-based learning (PBL) thematic module to improve students' critical thinking skills at SDN 2 Kembang Keranggara Daya on the theme of 7 events in life of grade V. To determine the effectiveness of the thematic module (PBL) to improve students' critical thinking skills at SDN 2 Kembang Keranggara Daya on the theme of 7 events in life of grade V SD/MI. This research method uses the Research and Development (R&D) development model (1) The results of the material expert validation of the problem-based learning thematic module developed by the researcher obtained a score with a "very good" category (2) The results of the student response questionnaire on the effectiveness of using the thematic module developed by the researcher obtained an overall score of 67.73 respondents and was in the range of X 63 with a "very good" category (3) The results of the student test in understanding the material in the thematic module obtained a score of 1,091 with an average of 72.73 in the complete category. The use of learning modules should encourage students to be active and learn independently, both at home and at school.
