Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan pendekatan Deep Learning dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila terhadap peningkatan kemampuan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) siswa SMP Islam Az-Zahrah 2 Palembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experimental tipe Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 50 siswa kelas VIII yang terbagi ke dalam kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes pre-test dan post-test berbasis HOTS. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Independent Samples T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata post-test kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol dengan nilai signifikansi < .05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan Deep Learning efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan HOTS siswa pada pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila.   This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Deep Learning approach in Civic Education learning on improving students’ Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) at SMP Islam Az-Zahrah 2 Palembang. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 50 eighth-grade students divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through HOTS-based pre-test and post-test instruments and analyzed using the Independent Samples T-Test. The results showed that the experimental class achieved a higher post-test mean score than the control class with a significance value of < .05. These findings indicate that the Deep Learning approach is effective in improving students’ HOTS in Civic Education learning.
