Principal leadership has a significant role in enhancing teachers’ work ethic as key contributors to the teaching and learning process in schools. This study aims to examine the effect of principal leadership on teachers’ work ethic at SMP Negeri 18, Serang City. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation review. The findings reveal that effective principal leadership, characterized by exemplary conduct, open communication, and motivational support, contributes to improved teacher discipline, sense of responsibility, and work motivation. Therefore, it can be concluded that principal leadership positively influences the development of teachers’ work ethic at SMP Negeri 18, Serang City.
