This study aims to determine the effect of hand walking exercise on the arm muscle strength of Shorinji Kempo athletes at Dojo Laksamana, Siak Regency. This type of research is a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The population and sample consisted of 8 athletes selected using total sampling technique. The research instrument used was a 1-minute push-up test. Data analysis used paired sample t-test after passing the normality assumption test. The results of the study showed a significant change in arm muscle strength, where the value of t-count (2.18) was greater than t-table (1.895) at a significance level of 5%. The implication of this study is that hand walking is an effective, accessible, and low-cost functional exercise method to be integrated into the physical training program for martial arts athletes to maximize punch and block techniques.
