The Malay dance training activity was conducted to improve understanding, provide training, and enhance the skills of students at SDN 182 Pekanbaru in appreciating traditional Malay dance through the Kuala Deli dance material. The implementation method employed participatory and demonstration approaches, including the introduction of dance philosophy and ethics, as well as training in basic dance movements such as sembah, langkah lenggang, and petik bunga. The activity was carried out through several stages, namely material presentation, movement demonstration, direct practice, and participant ability evaluation. The results of the activity indicated an improvement in students’ understanding of Malay cultural values as well as enhanced skills in performing the basic movements of Malay dance. Participants demonstrated enthusiasm and active participation throughout the training, which was reflected in their ability to follow the sequence of dance movements properly. This training contributed positively to fostering artistic appreciation and supporting efforts to preserve local culture within the school environment.
