This study aims to reveal how the term “Anak Abah” functions as an affective political symbol in digital political communication on platform X. A qualitative approach with Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis was employed. Data were collected through non- participant observation of X posts containing the term “Anak Abah” produced by Anies Baswedan supporters during the political campaign period (28 November 2023–10 February 2024) using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted in three operational stages: (1) identification of denotative meaning, (2) analysis of connotative meaning, and (3) derivation of mythological meaning. The findings indicate that “Anak Abah” does not merely serve as a supporter label but as a symbol of paternal relations emphasizing emotional closeness, moral legitimacy, and collective solidarity. This symbolic practice reflects the dominance of affective politics in digital public spheres, where emotional resonance often replaces rational policy discourse. The study contributes to language and political communication studies by affirming the ideological role of affective language in Indonesian digital politics. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bagaimana istilah “Anak Abah” berfungsi sebagai simbol politik afektif dalam komunikasi politik digital di platform X. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis semiotik Roland Barthes. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi non-partisipan berupa unggahan media sosial X yang memuat istilah “Anak Abah” dari akun-akun pendukung Anies Baswedan selama periode kampanye politik (28 November 2023–10 Februari 2024) dengan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dalam tiga tahap operasional: (1) identifikasi makna denotatif, (2) analisis makna konotatif, dan (3) penarikan makna mitos. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa “Anak Abah” tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai label pendukung, melainkan sebagai simbol relasi paternal yang menekankan kedekatan emosional, legitimasi moral, dan solidaritas kolektif. Praktik simbolik ini mencerminkan dominasi politik afektif dalam ruang publik digital, di mana resonansi emosional kerap menggantikan diskursus kebijakan rasional. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada kajian bahasa dan komunikasi politik dengan menegaskan peran ideologis bahasa afektif dalam politik digital Indonesia.
