This thesis research aims to explain the application of continuity editing techniques in creating the illusion of the same space and time in the talk show program "Obrolan Dua Arah" on Komin TV. This program is a soft news broadcast with the theme of the dynamics of tradition and modernization in West Sumatra, produced using a tapping production method with a duration of 40 minutes divided into 4 segments. The creative research method consists of five stages: preparation, elaboration, synthesis, realization, and completion. The main focus of this research lies in the post-production stage, particularly in the image editing process.By applying Valerie Orpen’s continuity theory, this work emphasizes the smooth transition between shots through three main technical aspects: the 180-degree rule, shot reverse shot, and eyeline match. The results of this creative work show that the consistent application of the 180-degree rule in each segment successfully maintains visual stability and helps the audience understand the position of the presenters and guests within the studio. The use of shot reverse shot and eyeline match effectively creates a logical continuity of dialogue, making the audience feel as if they are watching a single, complete, and realistic flow of discussion.
