This study purposes to improve student learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning through the implementation of the Index Card Match cooperative learning model in fourth grade elementary schools. This research uses both qualitative and quantitative methods in the Classroom Action Research (CAR) technique. Twenty-two fourth-graders from SD Negeri 45 Payakumbuh served as the research subjects. The study was carried out in two cycles covering the planning stage, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Learning outcome exams, documentation, and observation were used as data gathering methods. The findings demonstrated that the implementation of the Index Card Match learning model was able to significantly improve student learning outcomes. The average learning outcome in cycle I obtained a score of 75.08 with a sufficient category, then increased in cycle II to 84.69 with a good category. This learning paradigm was able to boost student participation, cooperation, and activity during the learning process in addition to enhancing learning results. Therefore, the Index Card Match model can be utilised as a successful learning substitute to establish an engaging, dynamic, and relevant learning environment in IPAS instruction in elementary schools.
