This study is about the reproduction of patriarchy and women's resistance in the social context dimension of the novel Gadis Kretek by Ratih Kumala using the Critical Discourse Analysis (AWK) approach of Teun A. Van Dijk. The aim of the research is to uncover how patriarchal discourse is reproduced and how women's resistance is constructed through the structure of the social context that underlies the text. The method used is qualitative with a critical discourse analysis approach. The data source is in the form of the discourse of the novel Gadis Kretek, with data in the form of discourse that contains patriarchy and women's resistance. The results show that patriarchal reproduction in the novel operates through four mechanisms: (1) dominant ideologies protected by colonial class hierarchies, (2) stigmatization of independent women in the social order, (3) patrilineal hegemony that is naturalized through everyday practice, and (4) systemic marginalization through subtle neglect. Meanwhile, women's resistance exists through two paradoxical paths: patriarchal capitalism in the kretek industry that opens up private access to the public economic space, and the historicity of the kretek industry that provides a collective precedent for women's leadership.
