Abstract

Digital distractions and smartphone addiction present major challenges to student engagement in modern Islamic classrooms. To address this issue, this study explores the pedagogical value of the Prophetic tradition "Inna min al-bayan lasihran", establishing it as a foundational model for persuasive educational communication. Employing a qualitative descriptive-analytical design with a hermeneutic approach, the research investigates the dimensions of bayan (eloquence) and sihr (persuasive impact) within Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani's Fath al-Bari. The analysis demonstrates that prophetic communication effectively shapes student cognition and affect via linguistic mechanisms of sarf and atf. By cross-examining these traditional insights with Michel Foucault’s power-knowledge and discourse framework, this study introduces the Integrated Persuasive-Bayan Method (IPBM). This novel pedagogical model bridges contemporary digital aesthetics with ethical classroom interactions. The findings reveal that persuasive rhetoric in Islamic schooling must function as an emancipatory asset for student enlightenment rather than an instrument of ideological subjugation. This conceptual framework offers actionable insights for instructors designing compelling yet responsible communication strategies for the digital age.
