Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) bertema Cerdik Mengolah Sampah terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Barru. P5 dipandang sebagai strategi implementatif Kurikulum Merdeka yang menekankan keseimbangan antara pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan melalui kegiatan berbasis proyek kontekstual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode mixed methods dengan desain eksperimen semu dan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian meliputi siswa kelas IV UPTD SD Negeri 13 Barru yang mengikuti kegiatan proyek selama lima pertemuan. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui pretest dan posttest dengan menggunakan angket karakter dan lembar observasi, sedangkan data kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada seluruh dimensi karakter pelajar Pancasila, meliputi beriman dan bertakwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, gotong royong, mandiri, kreatif, dan bernalar kritis. Kegiatan proyek tidak hanya meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan, tetapi juga menumbuhkan nilai tanggung jawab, kerja sama, dan kepedulian sosial di kalangan siswa. Faktor pendukung keberhasilan meliputi dukungan guru, partisipasi orang tua, serta keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam kegiatan proyek. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa P5 bertema Cerdik Mengolah Sampah mampu menjadi media efektif dalam pendidikan karakter berbasis lingkungan dan berorientasi pada keberlanjutan. This study aims to analyze the impact of implementing the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) with the theme Smart Waste Management on the character development of elementary school students in Barru Regency. P5 is positioned as a strategic component of the Merdeka Curriculum, emphasizing a balance between knowledge, attitudes, and skills through contextual project-based learning. This research employed a mixed methods approach, combining a quasi-experimental design and a case study to obtain comprehensive results. The participants consisted of fourth-grade students at UPTD SD Negeri 13 Barru who participated in the project over five sessions. Quantitative data were collected through pretest and posttest using character questionnaires and observation sheets, while qualitative data were gathered through interviews, classroom observations, and documentation. The findings revealed a significant improvement across all character dimensions of the Pancasila student profile, including faith and devotion to God Almighty, cooperation, independence, creativity, and critical reasoning. The project activities not only enhanced students’ environmental awareness but also fostered responsibility, collaboration, and social empathy. Supporting factors included teacher guidance, parental involvement, and students’ active participation throughout the project. The study concludes that the P5 project themed Smart Waste Management serves as an effective medium for environmental-based character education that aligns with the principles of sustainability and the national vision of character-based learning.
