Abstract

Soft skills and hard skills are important components in developing the competencies of vocational education graduates to develop their potential according to their respective interests and expertise. This study aims to analyze the impact of the implementation of the MBKM internship program on improving these two skills in students at the West Aceh State Community Academy. Soft skills include communication, problem-solving, teamwork, time management, adaptability, and leadership, while hard skills include technical competence, mastery of operational procedures, use of technology, and specific work skills. Data were analyzed descriptively for each indicator. The results showed that the MBKM internship program had a positive and significant impact on improving soft skills by 84% and hard skills by 93%. In the soft skills aspect, all indicators experienced improvement although there was still a small number of students who were not optimal. Meanwhile, hard skills showed a higher increase, especially in specific work skills which were relatively evenly distributed, while the use of technology still needed strengthening. Overall, the MBKM internship program proved effective in improving student competencies comprehensively, both technical and non-technical aspects. It was concluded that after participating in the MBKM internship program, students' soft skills and hard skills improved as expected.  Keywords: Soft Skills, Hard Skills, Magang MBKM, Vokasional Education
