Abstract

Indonesian language learning in elementary schools still faces various challenges, particularly the limited use of learning media that can accommodate students' diverse characteristics and learning needs. This condition affects students' motivation, participation, and understanding of learning materials. This Community Service Program aimed to optimize the use of Indonesian language learning media to improve students' understanding, motivation, and learning outcomes at SDN Tambalangan. The program was conducted from December 6 to 8, 2025, using a participatory approach consisting of preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The implementation stage involved learning activities and mentoring through the use of engaging and interactive Indonesian language learning media. Evaluation was carried out through observation, task assessment, and the administration of pretests and posttests. The results showed that the use of learning media increased students' engagement in the learning process. Students demonstrated high enthusiasm and actively participated in discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and various learning activities. Furthermore, the evaluation results indicated an improvement in students' understanding, as reflected in better posttest scores compared to pretest scores. The learning media also created a more engaging, interactive, and meaningful learning environment, thereby enhancing students' motivation and learning outcomes. Therefore, optimizing the use of Indonesian language learning media can serve as an effective strategy for improving the quality of learning and students' literacy skills in elementary schools.
