This study aims to analyze the effect of harvest workers’ competence and the work environment on the output of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) harvesting at Sei Merah Estate, PT P.P. London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk. The fluctuating productivity of harvest workers indicates the need to evaluate the factors influencing harvesting performance. Workers’ competence was measured through soft skills, general competencies, and specific competencies (hard skills), while the work environment encompassed both physical and non-physical conditions that support harvesting activities. This research employed a quantitative approach involving 60 harvest workers selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation, and were subsequently analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results revealed that harvest workers’ competence had a positive and significant effect on FFB harvesting output, with a significance value of 0.007. The work environment also demonstrated a positive and significant effect on FFB harvesting output, with a significance value of 0.012. Simultaneously, both variables significantly affected FFB harvesting output, as indicated by an F-statistic of 40.994 and a significance value of 0.000. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.590 indicates that harvest workers’ competence and the work environment collectively explain 59% of the variation in FFB harvesting output. These findings highlight the importance of enhancing harvest workers’ competencies and improving working conditions to support optimal harvesting productivity.
