Abstract

Passing is a fundamental skill in futsal because the game is played in a limited space and requires quick ball circulation, accuracy, and continuous movement. This study aimed to analyze the effect of give-and-go passing training on the improvement of passing skills among Persim Manggarai Tengah FC futsal players while considering the limitation of the pre-experimental design. This research employed a quantitative pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 16 active players selected using total sampling, and all participants followed the complete research procedure from pretest to posttest. The instrument used was a 30-second passing and controlling test. The treatment consisted of a structured give-and-go passing training program conducted for six weeks with three sessions per week and organized through warm-up, core drill, and cool-down activities. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test for difference scores, and paired sample t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the mean pretest score was 18.313 and increased to 21.375 in the posttest, with a mean difference of 3.063 points. The paired sample t-test produced t(15) = -16.975 and p < 0.001, indicating a significant improvement after the treatment. These findings suggest that give-and-go passing training is associated with a significant improvement in passing skills, particularly in accuracy, coordination, and movement after passing, although causal interpretation should be made cautiously because the study did not involve a control group. Keywords: give-and-go training, passing skills, futsal, pre-experimental study, motor learning Latihan passing give and go merupakan bentuk latihan kombinasi yang menekankan kemampuan mengoper bola, bergerak tanpa bola, dan menerima umpan kembali secara cepat.
