Scrolling, skipping, seeking: Dampak atensi terfragmentasi terhadap reseptivitas spiritual remaja dan tantangan neurokognitif pendidikan agama Kristen

Gen Z has grown up in a digital ecosystem that has fundamentally altered their cognitive architecture. Neuroscience research shows that constant exposure to digital stimuli produces fragmented attention, a cognitive pattern characterized by rapid, shallow, and reactive shifts in focus. This article analyzes the impact of attention fragmentation on adolescents' spiritual receptivity and the challenges it poses for Christian Religious Education (CRE). Through an interdisciplinary approach that brings together cognitive neuroscience, spiritual theology, and critical pedagogy, this article argues that spiritual receptivity requires attentional capacity, which digital habitus degrades. The discussion covers three dimensions: first, the neurocognitive mechanisms of attention fragmentation in digital adolescents; second, the theological relationship between attention and spiritual receptivity; third, the reconstruction of CRE through contemplative pedagogy as a response to these neurocognitive challenges. This article concludes that CRE needs to transform from a transmission-cognitive model toward a formative-contemplative model that restores attentional capacity as the foundation of spiritual growth.   Abstrak Gen Z tumbuh dalam ekosistem digital yang secara fundamental mengubah arsitektur kognitif mereka. Riset neurosains menunjukkan bahwa paparan konstan terhadap stimulus digital menghasilkan atensi terfragmentasi, yakni pola kognitif yang ditandai oleh perpindahan fokus yang cepat, dangkal, dan reaktif. Artikel ini menganalisis dampak fragmentasi atensi terhadap reseptivitas spiritual remaja serta tantangan yang ditimbulkannya bagi Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK). Melalui pendekatan interdisipliner yang mempertemukan neurosains kognitif, teologi spiritual, dan pedagogi kritis, artikel ini berargumen bahwa reseptivitas spiritual mensyaratkan kapasitas atentif yang justru terdegradasi oleh habitus digital. Pembahasan mencakup tiga dimensi: pertama, mekanisme neurokognitif fragmentasi atensi pada remaja digital; kedua, relasi teologis antara atensi dan reseptivitas spiritual; ketiga, rekonstruksi PAK melalui pedagogi kontemplatif sebagai respons terhadap tantangan neurokognitif tersebut. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa PAK perlu bertransformasi dari model transmisi-kognitif menjadi model formatif-kontemplatif yang memulihkan kapasitas atensi sebagai fondasi pertumbuhan spiritual.
