<![CDATA[This study examines the relevance of Sibawaih’s linguistic thought in modern linguistics. The research aims to analyze Sibawaih’s contributions in phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and linguistic methodology as well as their relationship with contemporary linguistic theories. This study employed a qualitative approach using library research methods. Primary data were obtained from Al-Kitab by Sibawaih, while secondary data were collected from books, scientific journals, and previous studies related to Arabic linguistics and modern linguistics. Data collection was conducted through documentation techniques and analyzed using content analysis. The findings indicate that Sibawaih’s linguistic thought reflects systematic and scientific approaches in analyzing Arabic language structures. His phonological concepts are closely related to modern phonetics and phonology, while his syntactic theories show similarities with structural and generative linguistics. In addition, Sibawaih’s discussion of meaning and language context demonstrates relevance to semantics and pragmatics. The study concludes that Sibawaih’s linguistic thought not only contributed significantly to classical Arabic linguistics but also remains relevant to contemporary linguistic studies and Arabic language education.]]>
