Abstract

Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa edukasi kesehatan berbasis video animasi efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan anak usia prasekolah terkait pencegahan penularan ISPA.Abstract: Preschool children are a vulnerable group to infectious diseases due to their high levels of activity and social interaction within the school environment. Limited knowledge and skills in practicing proper cough etiquette may increase the risk of disease transmission among children in this age group. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of preschool children in preventing the transmission of Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) through animated video-based cough etiquette education. The program was conducted at TKIT Azkia, Depok City, involving 22 children aged 4–6 years. The intervention consisted of health education delivered through animated videos, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. Evaluation was conducted using a pretest-posttest design with a picture-based assessment instrument consisting of eight knowledge items and observations of cough etiquette practice skills. The results showed that the average knowledge score increased from 38% to 93%, representing an improvement of 55 percentage points. In addition, 86% of the children were able to independently demonstrate proper cough etiquette according to the recommended procedures. These findings indicate that animated video-based health education is effective in improving preschool children's knowledge and skills related to the prevention of ARI transmission.
