Increasingly urgent issue as digital transformation accelerates in the education sector. This study aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities faced by teachers at SD Negeri Cijati in utilizing AI as a learning innovation in the digital era. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach through in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation, and documentation study involving classroom teachers, subject teachers, and the school principal. The findings reveal that the primary challenges include limited digital literacy among classroom teachers, unstable internet infrastructure, absence of official AI usage policies at the school level, concerns about data privacy of underage students, and difficulties in adapting AI-generated content to the cognitive developmental stage of elementary school students. However, significant opportunities were also identified, including AI's potential to support personalized and adaptive learning, automate thematic lesson planning, provide real-time feedback, and facilitate inclusive education for students with diverse learning needs. Teachers with adequate digital competence demonstrated the ability to optimize AI as an effective pedagogical tool within the elementary school context. These findings underscore the need for sustainable professional development programs, supportive institutional policies, and strengthened digital infrastructure to maximize AI's benefits in elementary education.
