<![CDATA[Ponco Waliko is a Javanese oral cultural tradition that embodies philosophical values and is conveyed through narratives rich in symbolic meaning. This study aims to describe the forms of speech acts and implicature meanings within the Ponco Waliko tradition. The narratives in this tradition do not always have literal meanings; therefore, a pragmatic approach is necessary to uncover meanings based on the context of language use. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The data sources consist of utterances within the Ponco Waliko tradition, obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using a pragmatic matching method, drawing on speech act theory and implicature theory. The results of this study indicate that utterances in the Ponco Waliko tradition are dominated by directive speech acts in the form of advice and prohibitions that serve as guidelines for the community. These utterances also contain implicatures that reflect moral values, such as responsibility, honesty, politeness, and social harmony. Thus, the implicit meanings and cultural functions contained in the Ponco Waliko tradition can be revealed through a pragmatic approach.]]>
